General Manager's May Greetings

Dear Friends of WIHS:

The colors of springtime have arrived in Connecticut with the grass returning to a lush green color and the trees blossoming with sprouting leaves and colorful buds abounding on the once barren branches. This beauty of spring testifies to GOD’s faithfulness to His creation and His people. GOD sends the rains of spring to provide the necessary nourishment for the plants and trees without which there would be death and decay instead of new life and growth. As the prophet Joel declares, “For the rains He sends are an expression of His grace.”

Just as GOD graciously pours out the rains of spring for new life in the world of nature, He graciously pours out His Spirit into the hearts of His chosen people to bring new spiritual life that shall never end. This is the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to every believer given in John 14. The Holy Spirit, GOD Himself, is graciously poured out to live within the life of every believer, to change hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, and to produce spiritual fruit that is pleasing to GOD.

Pentecost Sunday, which is May 11th this year, is celebrated by many Christians to remember the Holy Spirit coming into the lives of the first believers, as told in Acts 2. Pentecost Sunday is also an opportunity to examine the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in your own spiritual life. Is the Holy Spirit changing your life to produce spiritual fruit which is pleasing to GOD? This is GOD’s desire and purpose in sending the Holy Spirit to live within us. We need to yield to the Spirit at all times, in all ways, and in all places, to fulfill GOD’s plan for this new life He has given.

WIHS is a ministry that seeks the pouring out of the Holy Spirit into the lives of all who listen, that they may know His presence and power, and give their lives to serve Jesus, as their Lord and Saviour. Thank you for your continued support of WIHS with your prayers, words of encouragement, labors and financial gifts. May GOD continue to pour out His Spirit through the ministry of WIHS. That’s why We’re In His Service.

May 2008 Prayer and Praise from WIHS

A. Praise GOD for another month of Christian Radio broadcasting by WIHS.

B. Praise GOD for the generous donation of new WIHS signage to replace the weather-aged signs on Route 17 and at the building entrance.

C. Praise GOD for the many postal and E-Mail letters received during Letter Month as listeners testified to the value and benefits received through the ministry of WIHS.

D. May is a busy month with special programs planned for the National Day of Prayer, Mothers Day, Memorial Day and a month-long emphasis on Missions. Pray for the Staff and Management as preparations are made to present these programs, that many listeners will be strengthened in their Christian walk as they hear this special programming.

E. Praise GOD for His blessings on the Safe At Home evangelism outreach at the New Britain Rock Cats ballgame on April 20th. Over 300 persons responded to the invitation to commit their lives to receive and follow Jesus as Saviour and Lord. WIHS was privileged to participate and provide a Station display to welcome and encourage new listeners.

F. Pray for GOD to give wisdom and guidance as several program schedules and features are changed to accommodate new program formats and delivery methods.

G. Pray for GOD to continue to strengthen the Staff and Management with good health, faithful zeal and ongoing commitment to provide the very best in Inspiration and Information through the ministry of WIHS.
